Terms of Use
Last updated September 25, 2026
Welcome to POLARITY — a live, interactive game-show experience made for entertainment. By using POLARITY (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use POLARITY
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. You can watch live shows without an account; you need an account to play.
2. Your account
- You sign in with Google, with Apple, or with an email address and a password, and you can add or remove these later as long as one remains. We never see your Google or Apple password. An email-and-password account's password is kept by Firebase Authentication, not by us, and we never store or log it. You're responsible for keeping your password to yourself.
- An email-and-password account must confirm its email address before it can pick a username or play. One that stays unconfirmed for 48 hours, with no other sign-in method, is deleted.
- You choose a public username. It must not impersonate another person or POLARITY staff, and must not contain hateful, obscene, or harassing language. We may reclaim, mask, or reset usernames that break these rules.
- You're responsible for activity under your account. Please keep it to one account per person.
3. Playing fair
When you join a game, you agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, script inputs, or tamper with game state — buzzers, votes, wagers, or answers.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse hosts, staff, or other players.
- Submit content — usernames, profile pictures, the region on your profile, survey answers, words you guess on a shared board, or drawings — that is hateful, obscene, illegal, infringing, or impersonates someone else.
- Attempt to access other users' private data or disrupt the Service.
We may remove content, end your session, or suspend or terminate your account for violations, at our discretion.
4. Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you submit: your username, profile picture and region, survey answers, words you guess on a shared board, drawings, and any feedback or reports you send us. By submitting it, you grant POLARITY a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use it to operate and promote the Service — for example, showing your name on the leaderboard, a word you guessed on the live board, or a survey answer a host puts on the board. Drawings are seen by the host running the show; they are not put on the live board. You confirm you have the right to submit it. We may moderate or remove content at any time.
This license ends when you delete your account, except for what our Privacy Policy says survives a deletion — your retired username, the results and logs of games you finished, feedback you sent, and reports — and for anything already shown in a show before you deleted it.
5. Reporting, blocking & moderation
POLARITY does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive players. Usernames are screened when they are chosen. The region on your profile is screened against the same word list by the app when you save it, and the words guessed on a shared board are screened on the host's device before the board shows them. Survey answers reach a live board only after a host has loaded them into the show, where the host can edit or remove any of them.
- Report. Signed-in players can report another player from that player's profile on the website, from the waiting room before a show, and in the app from Rankings or from Settings › Report a player. Pick a reason and, if you like, add a note. The player you report is not told who reported them. Reports about POLARITY's owner account can't be sent this way; email them to legal@polaritylive.com.
- Block. Blocking a player hides their name and picture from you in the waiting room, on their profile, on leaderboards and rankings, and in the show archive, where they appear as "Blocked player". They are not told. Blocking only hides them for you: it does not remove them from a show you are both in, because the live board is the same for everyone in the room. To have staff look at a player, report them — the Block sheet offers to send a report too. You can unblock anyone from your profile on the website, or from Settings › Blocked players in the app.
- What we do. Staff review every report and aim to act within 24 hours. If a report is upheld we remove the content — for example by changing the username (the old one is retired and cannot be taken back), replacing it on the leaderboard and archive, or resetting the profile picture and region — and we may suspend the account, ban it, or remove it permanently. A report on its own never changes anything; a person decides.
- You can also write to support@polaritylive.com about anything you see or experience on POLARITY.
6. Games, scores & prizes
POLARITY is for fun. Games are scored in points — there is no in-game currency, and nothing on the wheel, the board or the ladder stands for money. Scores, rankings, points and prizes are for entertainment only and have no cash value unless a specific promotion says otherwise in writing. Our game formats are original works inspired by the genre. POLARITY is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any televised game show or its owners.
7. Hosts & staff
Some features are run by POLARITY staff — hosts, managers, and admins — who schedule shows, write questions, and score games. Their scoring and judging decisions during a live game are final.
8. Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Live shows depend on scheduling and connectivity. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and POLARITY and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continued use means you accept the changes.
12. Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and expect players to do the same. If you believe something on POLARITY — a username, a profile picture, a survey answer, a word on a board, a drawing, or anything else — infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, email a notice to legal@polaritylive.com with the subject line "Copyright notice". Under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), the notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name counts);
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- where the material is on POLARITY — a link, the username, or the show and the moment — so we can find it;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner.
When we receive a notice that includes these, we remove or disable the material and take reasonable steps to tell the player who posted it. A notice that leaves some of them out may not be acted on; we will say what is missing.
If your content was removed and you think it was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your physical or electronic signature; what was removed and where it was before; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, postal address and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for the district where your address is (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which POLARITY may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice. We forward the counter-notice to that person and may restore the material 10 to 14 business days later unless they tell us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers. We remove the accounts of players who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances.
Our designated agent. Registering POLARITY's designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office is still in progress, so no agent is listed here yet. Until one is, send every copyright notice and counter-notice to legal@polaritylive.com.
